Franchise Sports Media

  • Basic Reclaims the Henderson Bowl:

The Basic Wolves defeated the #7 Green Valley Gators behind a game-winning 4th-quarter 3-yard touchdown run by Carl Napoleon. Green Valley’s Sonny Uranich rushed for 131 yards, but the Gators were derailed by 145 penalty yards.

  • #2 Sloan Canyon Dominates:

The Sloan Canyon Pirates moved to 3-0 after putting up 49 points against Somerset Losee. QB Cade Hoschino threw two touchdown passes, with backups adding three more to set up a Week 5 marquee match against #3 Mater East.

  • Bishop Gorman Recovers Out-of-State:

Top-ranked Bishop Gorman bounced back from last week’s Miami loss by defeating Utah’s Lone Peak 38-14, powered by RB Noah Cole’s 96 rushing yards and a 39-yard touchdown run.

  • Major Setbacks for Independent Powerhouses:

Preseason #1 Arbor View fell to 0-3 following a 44-0 loss to Arizona’s Hamilton; #3 Centennial suffered a 41-point defeat; #7 Shadow Ridge dropped to 1-3; and Liberty fell to 1-2 against Skyridge.

  • NIAA Upsets & Undefeated Streaks:

#10 Green Valley Christian shut out #9 Pinecrest Cadence in the week’s sole ranked matchup. Meanwhile, Sunrise Mountain (26-2 vs. Rancho) and Mater East (51-20 vs. University City) both remained undefeated at 3-0.

  • Clark Enters Top 10:

The Clark Chargers earn a spot in this week’s FSM Top 10 rankings after securing another win to remain undefeated against in-state opponents.

It was all about Henderson for The Franchise this week, as we had two FSM Games of the Week. The Henderson Bowl saw the Basic Wolves take the hardware back, and the Sloan Canyon train keeps on rolling. But first, there was carnage in Las Vegas last night. Let’s take a ride around the Valley.

Week 4 High School Football Games: NIAA

There was one Ranked vs Ranked matchup in the whole city, and it was on the NIAA side where #10 Green Valley Christian got in the win column, hanging a donut on #9 Pinecrest Cadence.

Don’t look now, but Sunrise Mountain is 3-0, having beaten Rancho 26-2 on Thursday. Word on the streets is “They haven’t played anybody.”  Well, we say, if “anybody” is on your schedule, beat ’em! The Miners seem to understand the assignment.

Bishop Gorman went to Utah for some get-back after their upset loss in Miami last week. The Gaels beat Loan Peak 38-14 by running the rock! Running Back Noah Cole ran for 96 yards on 8 carries, including a 39-yarder for a touchdown. The Amina brothers both threw TDs in this one, and that Gorman Defense is back after a weird week off.

Mater East is 3-0, picking up a win vs University City 51-20; CIVICA hung 63 pts on Elite; and Faith Lutheran got a win vs Damien, as it was definitely an out-of-state-opponent night for most of Las Vegas. Out of state is what it is for our countdown. We get it. But we look at these as tune-up games. Win or lose.

And now the Independents 😩

To say it was a rough night is like saying Maxx Crosby plays ok defense. #3 Centennial got beat by 41 points. FORTY-ONE POINTS!!!!! #7 Shadow Ridge is now 1-3 after losing to Laguna Beach 21-7. #9 Desert Oasis beat undefeated Spring Valley 33-19. Last year’s NIAA runner-up, Arbor View, got destroyed in Arizona as Hamilton put up 44 without letting them score. We had Arbor View as our preseason #1, and now they’re 0-3. Those of us who wanted Liberty #1 are definitely basking in this…

But…

Liberty lost to Skyridge last night. They are 1-2. The top 2 teams in our preseason Top 10 have one win between them, and we’re in week 4. Sweet Baby Jesus. Laugh now, cry later, though. Eventually, all of this out-of-state stuff will be over. Count the Patriots and Aggies out at your peril.

Now for some cleanup. We’ve left the Clark Chargers off of our Top 10 for the last two weeks, and we’ve forgotten to add their scores both times. That ends this week. The Chargers won again last night. They haven’t played a Vegas team till last night, but they kept it all in-state, at least. They’ll make our top 10 this week. Guaranteed.

FSM Prep Rally NIAA Game of the Week: #2 Sloan Canyon vs Somerset Losee

“TQ, can we bring my guy on? I really didn’t do anything tonight.” That was Sloan Canyon Head Coach Nate Oishi after his Pirates beat the Losee Lions. He was suggesting that his offensive coordinator, JD Alexander, get in on the postgame interview after his unit put up 49 points.

That’s par for the course at Sloan. This staff is a family, and we’ve watched them from the beginning as they’ve built a football powerhouse that’s nowhere close to where they’re headed. Last night, they made mistakes I’ve never seen them make, and still weren’t in danger of losing this one at any point. 12 days off, and I expect their next game to be squeaky clean.

Quarterback Cade Hoschino knows this system like the back of his hand now. He threw two touchdowns, then gave way to his backup, who threw 3 more. Cade is flanked by 2 dawgs: Brandon Quaglio and Coen Makinney, who both played major parts in last night’s win. The Pirates are undefeated again at 3-0 and are headed into the bye week with a date with undefeated #3 Mater East on Thursday, September 17th.

It’s the only game on the slate. Thursday Night Football. We are so there. Hopefully, they won’t turn the music up, turn the lights off, and kick us off the field while we’re interviewing their coaches this time… if they win.

FSM Prep Rally Independent Game of the Week: The Henderson Bowl  – #7 Green Valley vs Basic

Green Valley running back Sonny Uranich ran all over the Basic Wolves in the 2026 Henderson Bowl, to the tune of 131 yards on 13 carries. That’s like Barry Sanders-type numbers. He was outgained by 14 yds by his own team… IN PENALTY YARDAGE! Talk about frustrating… Boden Hackenbruck had a 19-yard touchdown catch, an 80-yard punt return touchdown, and an interception IN A LOSS!

The Gators had barely won the last two Henderson Bowls, and last night Basic had enough. They sent Green Valley into the locker room at halftime with a donut and looked like they would run away with it. The Gators came out and put 12 quick points on the board in the 3rd, but Basic’s Carl Napoleon shut the door with a game-winning 3-yard touchdown in the 4th to seal it.

Andrew Rodriguez, Basic’s QB, was 10 of 20 for 141 yards and a TD, plus 32 yards rushing on 13 carries. Not terribly efficient, but enough to win on a night when his opponent couldn’t keep the laundry off the ground. Running back Dominic Fredrickson ran for 77 yards and a touchdown, and WR Louden Cahill had 6 catches for 57 yards. Basic’s other wideout, Rylee McCarty, had a beautiful 32-yard touchdown catch of his own.

The bowl goes back to Basic after a long stay in the swamp. Coach Jeff Cahill had this to say after the game: “In the second half our offense was really sputtering, and Andrew, our quarterback, took over. He started running the ball, hit that big pass down there and that was the difference.”

We’ve got a couple of games on Saturday, including #2 Foothill hosting a tough Mililani squad from Hawaii, and our latest FSM Top 10 Rankings coming in hot on Sunday morning. After this week’s turn of events, there will be some serious movement, no doubt. Make sure you keep coming back to FSM for all your 702 High School Football game coverage. Thanks for visiting FranchiseSportsMedia.com for your Las Vegas Sports news today.
