Las Vegas High School Football Games - Week 2 - 2026 | Bishop Gorman Downs Bosco

The first FULL week of High School Football is in the books. We had some upsets that will surely shake up our Top 10 rankings come Monday. The independents will definitely have a new #1 this week, and so will the National rankings

Week 1 High School Football Games:

Week zero was way out. Things began to settle down a bit on Friday night. Especially the weather. It was a hot night, as is normal during this time of year in the valley, but the scoreboards were hotter. News flash: There is one 2-0 team in Las Vegas. The Palo Verde Panthers held on to edge out a scrappy Legacy team at home, and are now in the proverbial driver’s seat early in the season on the Independents side. Centennial and Arbor View both lost out of state. Shadow Ridge and Green Valley both picked up wins vs Durango and Canyon Springs, respectively, and Desert Pines upset Las Vegas by a point.

On the NIAA side, Somerset Academy Losee lost to Barstow 16-19 (CA), Pinecrest Academy Cadence was skunked by Desert Star 63-18, and Faith Lutheran beat Bakersfield Christian 28-27

FSM Prep Rally Game of the Week: Bishop Gorman Gaels vs. #1 St. John Bosco Braves

FSM’s Prep Rally Game of the Week saw two of the best High School football teams in the country do battle, and it lived up to the early-season moniker “The Game of The Year.” The Gaels’ defense came out with their pants on fire and held the Braves scoreless for the whole first half, only to look at a tie score late in the third quarter.

The Bosco sideline must’ve smelled what their coaches were cooking in the locker room at halftime because the Braves came out a different team. The vaunted offensive line, on paper, one of the best units in the country, began to wear down the Gaels’ defensive line, which had given them fits all first half.

Bosco QB Koa Malau’ulu threw 2 tubbs in the 3rd quarter and woke up a Gorman team that seemed to be going through the motions. That’s when the game started living up to its billing. D1 athletes all over the field started looking like D1 athletes all over the field. WR Zyren Menor was our FSM Player of the Game with 88 yards receiving and 2 touchdowns, but his QB, Ace Amina, could’ve shared the honors with 15 of 23 attempts for 221 yards and four 4 touchdown passes on the night. Wide Receiver Cory Hinton Jr caught for 84 yards and scored the game-winning 54-yard touchdown to ice it.
