FSM Recap: Las Vegas High School Football Games – Week 6 – 2026
Franchise Sports Media
Gorman Finally Beats Mater Dei:
#1 Bishop Gorman went to Santa Ana and beat Mater Dei 25-8. The Gaels were 0-5 all time against the Monarchs. Corey Hinton Jr. ran for 201 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.
Mater East Owns Second Place:
#3 Mater East beat #2 Sloan Canyon 27-19 on Thursday in Henderson, led 21-3 at the half without completing a pass, and got a sack at its own 10 on the final play. The Knights are 4-0.
Liberty Runs Away With the Independent Game of the Week:
#10 Liberty beat #7 Foothill 48-17. Madden Delacruz went 14 of 19 for 304 yards and two touchdowns. That is three games of 42 or more for the Patriots.
Legacy Goes for Two and Gets It:
#4 Legacy beat #5 Clark 27-26 in overtime. Jaelynn Love-Carter threw the touchdown, then ran the two-point conversion himself. The Chargers have lost two straight.
Palo Verde Survives Overton:
#1 Palo Verde beat Moapa Valley 23-19 on the road and is 5-0. X’Zavier McZeal had three catches for 110 yards and a touchdown.
Valley Gives Up 64:
#8 Valley lost 64-26 at home to Pahrump Valley. That same night, #6 Basic shut out Canyon Springs 47-0, and #3 Coronado beat Desert Oasis 27-13. Monday’s list is going to move.
The FSM Prep Rally Las Vegas High School Postgame Show
Three Games of the Week. Three crews. Three sets of interviews. Man, we were all over the place last night. Bishop Gorman did something they had never done. Mater East took the second spot on our NIAA list on the field, not on paper. And Liberty reminded everybody why half of you wanted the Patriots preseason #1. The Prep Rally show is back this week, so let’s take a ride around the Valley.
Week 6 High School Football Games: NIAA
The two games at the top of the NIAA side both went our way for once, and by that we mean both got played, and both got shot. #3 Mater East at #2 Sloan Canyon on Thursday and Gorman at Mater Dei on Friday are both below in the Game of the Week blocks. Short version: the Knights are 4-0 and own second place, and the Gaels are 4-1 with the only loss on the schedule that nobody in Nevada is holding against them.
#7 Faith Lutheran got right, finally. The Crusaders beat #6 SLAM! Nevada 38-6 at home with five rushing touchdowns and a 49-yard field goal from Liam Radke. FORTY-NINE YARDS. Faith Lutheran is 3-3 and gets Gorman on Friday. SLAM is 2-2.
#10 The Meadows went up to Ely and lost to White Pine 26-6. The Mustangs are 0-3-1. CIVICA, GV Christian, Lake Mead, and Somerset Losee were all on vacation.
The Indies had a full slate, and it was crazy all night.

#1 Palo Verde went to Overton and came home 5-0, but it took some doing. The Panthers beat Moapa Valley 23-19, and yes, that is the same Moapa Valley that beat Clark by seven a week ago. X’Zavier McZeal had three catches for 110 yards and a touchdown, and Beau Gardineer added 115 total yards. Palo has now beaten the team that beat our #5, on their field, by four. The #1 spot is safe until somebody beats them… and maybe even after a loss.
#2 Sunrise Mountain hosted Eldorado and lost in a THRILLER! 33-22. Down goes another undefeated. It’s Palo, Mater East, and DEL SOL. Period. Sí, Del Sol. You read it right. You may see them on this top 10, too.
#3 Coronado is 4-1 after a 27-13 win at Desert Oasis, and the Cougars did it with everything but the offense. Kaz Lewis blocked a punt and fell on it in the end zone. Cade Meyer took an interception back for a score. Tristan Grau caught one touchdown and ran for another. The Diamondbacks are 2-3 and have lost two straight at home.
Then the game of the night that was not a Game of the Week. #4 Legacy at #5 Clark, 19-19 with 24 seconds left, and Clark recovers a fumble at the Legacy 24. Ramiro Reinaldo gets the Chargers to the 9 with nine seconds left, throws for the win, and Jayden Durr picks off the tip at the 2. Overtime. Clark scores and kicks it. Legacy scores on a Jaelynn Love-Carter throw to Ky’Ree Perkins, and coach Zachary Monticelli does not even think about the kick. Love-Carter keeps it, finds the hole, 27-26 Longhorns. Love-Carter finished 14 of 26 for 221 and two touchdowns. Cameron Turner ran for 105 and two scores. Clark is 3-2 and has now lost two games it could have won by a combined eight points.

#6 Basic just keeps going. The Wolves shut out Canyon Springs 47-0 with four different players scoring and a Davion Higgins pick-six. 4-1, a year after 0-10. We keep saying it because it keeps being true! Basic is not effin’ around in 2026.
#7 Foothill lost the Independent Game of the Week to #10 Liberty 48-17. That one is below, and it will rearrange the middle of the list. Liberty is mad, and they are playing like it. I’m picking the Pats for an Independent championship this year. That’s the toughest team on that list IMO.
Then there is #8 Valley. The Vikings were 2-1 and coming off a two-point loss to Sunrise Mountain. They gave up 64 at home to Pahrump Valley, 64-26. SIXTY-FOUR. Iyan Bosket hit Angel Ware from 35 to open the third quarter, and it was over from there. Valley is 2-2. That number is not surviving this week’s Top 10. Hell naw, homie.
#9 Green Valley hosted Spring Valley, and nobody reported a score anywhere by press time. It goes up on the live board the minute it is final.

Outside the list, Shadow Ridge made its case. The Mustangs beat Desert Pines 25-7 on homecoming night and held the Jaguars to 24 yards of offense on 37 snaps. Two first downs. TWO. Blake Holmstrom had an interception, a forced fumble, and a sack; Isaiah Jones ran for 176 yards on eight carries with an 80-yard touchdown; and Mujahid Gilliard scored on both of his first-half carries. We shot this one. Shadow Ridge is 3-2, and Desert Pines is 2-3.
Las Vegas High won the Bone Game for the 28th straight time, 56-16 over Rancho, and sophomore Steven Bullock scored five touchdowns. FIVE, as a sophomore. Arbor View made it two straight, 56-41 over Lincoln out of California, with Matthew Shelton taking a first-quarter kick back to the house. Centennial snapped a three-game skid with a 28-point second quarter and beat Mojave 49-6.
Elsewhere: Silverado 27, Durango 26, after the Trailblazers scored twice late and nearly a third time as the clock ran out. Del Sol 12, Chaparral 6 in overtime on an Arthur Gonzales plunge from the 1, and the Dragons are a quiet 4-0. Cimarron-Memorial 34, Bonanza 27, with Aiden Ceballos going for 150 yards and three scores. Boulder City 24, Sierra Vista 19. Western at Cheyenne had no score reported by press time.
FSM Prep Rally NIAA Game of the Week: #3 Mater East at #2 Sloan Canyon

Sold out. Standing room only. 3-0 against 3-0, the two teams under Gorman on our list, and the two teams that met in last year’s 4A Southern Region semifinal, when Sloan Canyon put 50 on Mater East and sent them home. The Knights had two weeks to think about that, and interim coach Gio Fauolo said the whole two weeks was one sentence: beat Sloan. I spoke to Gio, who I covered when he played for UNLV before the game, and the man was locked in. He remembered that playoff game and called it. He had no doubt his team was gonna bring the wood. The man was foaming at the mouth, literally. LOL. No lie, I’m as proud of him as I’ve been of Coach Oishi and his staff at Sloan. I love seeing the guys I covered in college succeed as coaches in the high school ranks. It’s just like watching Las Vegas High School players excel at the next level. It’s why we do this.
It started badly. Mater East went three-and-out, tried a fake punt on fourth-and-long, and the Pirates sniffed it out immediately. Sloan Canyon got the ball at the 21, marched to the 1, and the Mater East defense stood up three straight times. Field goal. 3-0. That goal line stand was the whole game in a nutshell.

From there, the Knights just ran it. Fast-ass Marcus Williams ripped off a couple, and on fourth and 3, offensive lineman Rayshawn Brown took a handoff up the middle for the touchdown. Yes, the offensive lineman. 7-3. Rajahn Butler broke a 63-yard run in the second quarter, and Brown scored again from the 1 on the next play. 13-3. Then the defense took over. Justice Kaina recovered a Cade Hoshino fumble in the red zone, and on the next Sloan Canyon possession, Division I commit Khalil Abdullah picked Hoshino and took it 40 yards to the house. Butler ran in the two. 21-3 at the half.
Here is the number. Mater East had 184 rushing yards in the first half and completed zero passes on three attempts. Zero. When James Monaghan finally connected on one, it was an 18-yard touchdown to S’Marion Coleman early in the third. 27-3.
Sloan Canyon did not fold. Backup quarterback Derek Backman came in midway through the third and hit Kaiden Hunn from 18 to make it 27-11. Jermaine Wilson Jr. scored from 7, and the conversion made it 27-19 with 5:49 left. Mater East turned it over on downs at the goal line with under two minutes to go, and Backman drove the Pirates all the way to the Mater East 10. Last play. Sack. Ballgame.
Williams finished with 88 yards on the ground, and Butler had 81. Backman threw for 114 after coming in. Wilson, who came into the year with a thousand-yard season behind him, got 50 yards on 21 carries. That is a defense. Fauolo said his regular head coach Tim Hough is back next week, and these two are very likely to see each other again in the region final on November 13. Mater East is 4-0. Sloan Canyon is 3-1. What a game, man… And to the kid who stole my phone, took it to the other side of the stadium, and dropped it: good on you. Henderson Police were gonna take your little ass to jail, homie.
Never steal iPhones. That’s a dumb move. 😉
FSM Prep Rally NIAA Game of the Week: #1 Bishop Gorman at Mater Dei

Five tries, five losses, two of the last three by a field goal, and 27-24 in Las Vegas a year ago with Gorman ranked #1 in the country. The Gaels came into Santa Ana Stadium ranked eighth nationally by MaxPreps; the Monarchs were 4-0 and 13th, and Gorman had a banged-up offensive line. Coach Brent Browner said the plan anyway was to run the ball and stop the run. Against Mater Dei. Okay.
It worked because of Corey Hinton Jr. The junior back played for St. John Bosco last year and had never beaten Mater Dei either. He capped the opening drive with 11 plays and 62 yards, including a 1-yard touchdown, and then he just kept going. Runs of 69, 37, and 28. Nineteen carries, 201 yards, two touchdowns. Browner said the Gaels usually rotate backs more than that. Not Friday. “Just feed the monster.” They fed the monster. Man, look, I did this one solo. The ground shook when Corey ran. He couldn’t be stopped. If anyone else had been covering, he would’ve been the player of the game.

But if you know me, you know I love good defense. I gave it to the side that held Mater Dei to 8 garbage time points.
Darian Abella picked off freshman quarterback Paytyn Guess in the first quarter to set up the first of two Cason Clark field goals, from 29 and 30. Tamatoa Gaoteote had 12 tackles. Ace Amina managed it at quarterback and added a 1-yard score of his own. Mater Dei got eight points. Eight. 25-8, Gorman.
Hinton’s line afterward was the one we will remember, though: “We didn’t change nothing up, and we just kept our foot on their necks the whole time.” Gorman is 4-1; they lost to Columbus out of Miami, and Faith Lutheran comes to Gorman on Friday. The full interviews from Santa Ana are in the show. I probably get myself and Browner in trouble in Cali. So what. Shut up. Gorman beat Bosco and Mater Dei in the same season. The Gaels are the California Kings. Talk yo ish. I’ve never seen the Gorman coaches that happy. Felt good, man.
FSM Prep Rally Independent Game of the Week: #7 Foothill at #10 Liberty

Our #7 at our #10 and the only ranked versus ranked game we had a camera at, and it was over early. Madden Delacruz went 14 of 19 for 304 yards and two touchdowns for the Patriots. Fourteen completions, 304 yards. That is nearly 22 yards per catch. The Falcons got 17, and Liberty got 48.
Some context on the team that just did that. Liberty is 3-2. Both losses came against out-of-state programs. In its three wins, Liberty has scored 42, 42, and now 48, and two of those were shutouts. Foothill came in 3-1, had just beaten Las Vegas High by seven, and is a good football team. Liberty put 48 on them. Listen. We reward Las Vegas wins. Hate it or love it, that’s what we care about. Liberty came out of the blocks with some TOUGH out-of-state games. We don’t rate those as much as everybody else. In-state, nobody has a resume like the Patriots, so far. We reward wins. Liberty is winning like J-Rock, Weezy, T-Pain, and Charlie Sheen combined. Watch the list…
We shot this one, and the crew got the players and the coach afterward, so the reel and the interviews are in the show. Foothill is 3-2 and hosts Coronado Friday, which is a big one for both. Liberty hosts Las Vegas High.
Next week: Faith Lutheran at Bishop Gorman on Friday. Palo Verde at Silverado. Coronado at Foothill. Clark at Green Valley. Sunrise Mountain at Chaparral. Las Vegas High at Liberty. Our latest FSM Top 10 Rankings drop Sunday morning, and with Mater East beating Sloan Canyon head-to-head, Liberty beating a team three spots above them by 31, and Valley giving up 64, things will move. Make sure you keep coming back to FSM for all your 702 High School Football game coverage. Thanks for visiting FranchiseSportsMedia.com for your Las Vegas Sports news today.
