UNR jumped out to a 7-3 lead to start the game. Jarod Lucas drained a three-pointer to open the scoring for the Wolf Pack and also hit a jumper to open the game on a 5-0 run. UNLV got their first points of the game on a Keylan Boonethree-pointer.

The UNR lead got as high as 12 when Tre Coleman made a layup to make the score 17-5. Dedan Thomas Jr. then got fouled as he made a layup and he converted the free throw to get the lead down to single digits. But UNR kept their foot on the gas as they kept the lead between 9-12 points up until the 8:28 mark of the first half, that’s when UNLV finally looked like they started to find their rhythm.

Luis Rodriguez made a layup off a missed Justin Webster three-pointer, and Shane Nowell made two free throws to cut the lead to 6, at 33-27. UNR made a bucket to make it an 8-point lead. Once again UNLV went cold, and the Wolf Pack got the lead up to 10. Rob Whaley Jr. made a jumper to trim the lead to 8, and that’s where the game stood at the end of the first half with UNR leading 39-31.

At the 11:58 mark, UNLV finally took the lead, 48-47, when Keylan Boone once again connected from downtown. But that was the first and last time the Runnin’ Rebels had the lead, as UNR went on an 8-0 run that saw them pull away from UNLV.
