FSM Presents: The FSM Prep Rally- Las Vegas High School Football- Week 6

Welcome back to The FSM Prep Rally on Franchise Sports Media. The 702 High School football scene was full of exciting games and blowouts during Week 5. In Week 6 we have the Battle for the North, a battle between two Top 4 teams, and in the Prep Rally Top 10 will we see a new #1 team?

The game of the week happened at Arbor View High School where the Aggies took on the Desert Pines Jaguars. This was a game that was dominated by defense, big plays, and a last-second come-from-behind win.

The Jaguars took a 21-7 lead into halftime behind 2 TD receptions from Lavon Brown. Brown was the best receiver on the field Friday night and is one of the best in the Valley. The Jaguars also had a pick-six from Isaiah Rubin.

But Arbor View started to run the ball up the middle behind their big center, Cooper Teague. The Aggies offense was led by Makhai Donaldson, who had 227 yards on the ground and 2 touchdowns. Donaldson was the best running back on the field and scored the go-ahead touchdown with just over a minute left. The Aggies went for 2 and converted the attempt to give them a 22-21 lead.

The Aggies defense sacked Desert Pines 4 times in the final drive and secured the 22-21 win.

On the flip side, Bishop Gorman lost to Hamilton after leading by 24-7  with 1:10 remaining in the fourth quarter. After 2 onside kicks recovered by the Huskies, they took a 25-24 lead and secured the victory.

Lastly, I want to give a huge congratulations to the Canyon Springs High School football team who beat Faith Lutheran 28-27 in overtime last Friday.

But the story of the game wasn’t the win, it was Pioneers head coach Gus McNair coaching in the game just a few weeks after his son was tragically killed. Coach McNair’s son was getting ready to leave a restaurant when a random drive-by shooting occurred and he was shot and killed. An innocent victim whose life was taken way too soon.

Coach McNair showed tremendous courage even being on the field last Friday, and his team did him proud by winning for him. Our thoughts, prayers, and most heartfelt condolences go out to the entire McNair family.
