On Sunday afternoon, the Golden Knights took on the New Jersey Devils and looked to get back on the winning side of things after a 4-1 loss to the Flames on Thursday.

The Golden Knights led 1-0 after the second period on Thursday night, but they allowed the last four goals in the game for the loss. The Golden Knights were outshot by a total of 37-29 and went 0-3 on the power play in the game against the Flames. Vegas defeated Seattle by a score of 5-4 and Detroit by 5-3 in the two games before Calgary.

The Golden Knights came into Sunday’s game scoring 3.17 goals per game, and they are allowing 2.99 goals against per game while going 19.1% on the power play and 80.6% on the penalty kill. Jonathan Marchessault entered the game, leading Vegas with 37 goals and 21 assists on the season.

The New Jersey Devils lost to Arizona by a score of 4-1 in their last game. New Jersey cut the deficit to 3-1 in the second period but couldn’t get any closer in the loss. The Devils outshot Arizona by a total of 38-32 and went 0-2 on the power play in the game. New Jersey defeated Dallas by a score of 6-2 in the game before Arizona but lost to the Rangers and Hurricanes before that.

The Devils came into the matchup against VGK scoring 3.30 goals per game, and they are allowing 3.46 goals against per game, while going 22% on the power play and 79.8% on the penalty kill. Jesper Bratt came into the game, leading New Jersey with 22 goals and 43 assists on the season.

The Golden Knights started to find their footing as the 2nd ended. An early goal in the third period gave the Devils the lead, but VGK pushed back to tie it and eventually took the lead and came away with the 3-1 win.

Nico Hischier opened the scoring just 38 seconds into the period to give the Devils a lead, but it was short-lived. The Golden Knights responded with a tying goal 2:19 later, and William Carrier picked up his 6th goal of the season and his first since returning from injured reserve.

Both sides would remain tied at 1 goal a piece for the next eight minutes and change, and Jack Eichel broke the tie with what went on to be the game-winning goal with a strike of his own at 11:06 off a feed from Noah Hanifin.

Hanifin has been productive for the Golden Knights since being acquired at the NHL trade deadline and is up to four points in five games played for Vegas. William Karlsson added an empty netter for good measure with 19 seconds left, putting a bow on a 3-1 win over the Devils.

Logan Thompson made 20 saves in the win.

The Golden Knights are back home to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, March 19th, at 7:00 p.m. PST. Thanks for visiting FranchiseSportsMedia.com for your Las Vegas Sports news today.
