One of the best high school football games of the week was Bishop Gorman traveling to Miami to take on Miami Central. Both teams were nationally ranked in the Top 25 with Gorman being ranked 9th and Central ranked 24th coming into the game according to MaxPreps. The Gaels came away with the win after Miami Central missed a field goal with 6 seconds left.

Gorman was led by sophomore quarterback Micah Alejado. The young lefty led a 4-play, 80-yard drive and threw a dime for a 37-yard touchdown to junior wide receiver Zachariah Branch to take a 21-20 lead with 3:48 left in the game. Another key play was when Bishop Gorman defensive end Jayden House blocked an extra point. That was the deciding factor between overtime and a Gorman win.

Gorman is now ranked 7th in the country by MaxPreps.

This week all eyes of the high school football world will be on Las Vegas for the Polynesian Classic, taking place at Bishop Gorman Friday and Saturday. Three of the best teams in Las Vegas will be taking part in the Polynesian Classic, Desert Pines, Bishop Gorman, and the defending champs, Liberty will each play a game over the weekend.

Arbor View has ditched the double wing and they look GOOD! The Aggies remain physical, tough, and play hard through the whistle, but now are more explosive on offense with the threat of the pass. Credit the entire Aggie coaching staff for making the conversion to the spread and remaining true to their core values. They are a real threat to make a run this year.
